Team USA basketball redeems the country


They did it!  Team USA men's basketball team has brought back Olympic Gold.  After being disappointed time after time, this year's team, nicknamed "The Redeem Team," has redeemed the country's dominance over basketball.

The Gold medal game between Team USA and Spain was a nail biter.  Spain was neck and neck with Team USA up until the last few minutes.  It took incredible play by the NBA's finest to squeeze out a victory.  This game felt like it could have gone either way.

Summer Olympics 2008 about to begin in Beijing


The Olympics are set to begin in Beijing, China later this week.  In the past, I have not cared too much about the Olympic games, neither summer games nor winter games.  But something about this year's games has piqued my interest.  It probably has something to do with the Olympics being held in China, and the expansive high definition coverage of the event.

USA Team Lock for Olympic Gold


One word: Kobe

That is the sole reason why the US will win the gold in the coming Olympics.

In the intrasquad scrimmage yesterday, Kobe put on a show in the closing minutes of the game cementing himself as the go-to guy on a team of all-stars.

In the closing minute, Kobe hit a fadeaway 3, a fadeaway baseline jumper and a step back jumper over Tayshaun Prince to give the Blue Team a 105-104 lead. On the final possession with Lebron James at the helm, Kobe forced James to go to his left and throw up a off-balance floater thus sealing the win in an emphatic solo performance.
