Dwight Howard wins NBA Slam Dunk


Superman has won the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk contest. After being jobbed in last year's event, Dwight Howard has come back for revenge. Dwight's mix of creativity and athletic skills totally dominated the competition. The other dunkers didn't stand a chance.

Dwight's first dunk, a behind the backboard windmill jam, brought down the house. This dunk requires a combination of hang time, soft hands, long reach, and lack of fear from crashing into the backboard. Not surprisingly, it scored a 50 from the judges.

Biedrins on Dwight Howard and Yao Ming


There is an interview with Andris Biedrins on SportingNews, comparing two of the NBA's top centers: Dwight Howard and Yao Ming. Andris Biedrins and the Golden State Warriors played the Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic recently, so Biedrins has both players fresh in his head.

Yao's speed, or lack thereof, is brought up again. The guy is big and tall. He lacks lateral speed. The best way to guard him is with a quicker defender, similar to how the Warriors used Al Harrington to force Yao to commit turnovers. That doesn't work with Dwight Howard. He will just bulldoze Harrington.
