Horse Racing

My first experience in horse racing was a fun one. Since i was a newbie to this, I just randomly choose a horse to win. I didn't buy a program or whatever to give myself a better chance of winning. Although i came out on the losing end, watching it there live and cheering along with everybody else and talking smack about your friend's horse is what makes it exciting and fun. I must agree that watching it on TV is way different from watching it live. For me, I'm scared to bet big so smaller bets is the way to go for me and if i win , i'll win a little, but it's better than losing alot. There are more than 1 race to bet on and I want to give myself other chances to win my money back. I hope to go there again and maybe come out on the winning end.

In it to Win it

The day started out bright and early at the crack of noon on a blistering hot Saturday. We decided to take advantage of Bay Meadows once-in-a-liftime $1 promotion where almost everything cost a buck--entrance fee, programs, soda, beer, and hotdogs. The dollar beer ended at 2:30pm; I had only drank one and now regret not drinking more.

Horse racing by itself is not really that interesting to me. The horses basically run around the track one time and that's pretty much it.

What makes it interesting is the gambling you can do beforehand. Each race from that point on becomes a crucial, as if your very soul is on the line.

Bay Meadows Racing

Horse Racing. It is definitely best experienced live at the track where you can see, and smell, the horses up close and personal. Being trapped in a city gets you seeing squares and bricks. It was a refreshing break to head out to the race tracks.

We wanted to get there early enough to witness the first race. First post was at 1:15 PM. Due to an unforeseen addiction to Picross for the Nintendo DS, we did not make it in time for the first post. We got there about ten minutes before the second race. We spent about five minutes staring at the betting machines like newbs.
