Warren Sapp to be in Dancing With the Stars?

Although it hasn't been officially announced, there has been reports stating that former NFL champion Warren Sapp will be in Dancing With the Stars.  The first thing that came to mind is Whoa, really?  Sapp, a former Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers linemen, is not exactly what you would call, graceful.  He's a big lug, plain and simple.

On the football field, he has shown some decent footwork and agility to rush the quarterback.  But on the grass, technique was not important as long as you got pressure on the opposing quarterback.  In ballroom dancing, the journey is the only thing, which can stiffle Sapp's learning curve.

Weighing in at 300 pounds, Sapp would easily be the heaviest contestant on Dancing With the Stars.  The next celebrity dancer that is remotely close to that is Season 1's Evander Holyfield, who probably weighed in the neighborhood of 250 pounds at that time.

Finding a dance partner for Warren Sapp would be difficult.  I would have to pick Cheryl Burke to be Sapp's dance partner for him to have any chance at winning.  Burke is a two time winner of Dancing With the Stars and partnered with Emmitt Smith, so she has knowledge of a former football player's skillset.

Even paired up with Cheryl Burke, Sapp's chances of winning are very slim.  I just don't see it happening.  Sapp's personality and the hordes of NFL fans will help Sapp get past the first week, but little after that.  Keep in mind that it has not been confirmed or officially announced, so we still don't know if Warren Sapp will really be on Dancing With the Stars.
