Luckily, I was on pain-meds, otherwise watching this game would have been much more painful.
At one point in the game, the Niners held the lead over the Giants 7 to 6. Unfortunately, that point would be the high of the day. On the next possession, Gore fumbled the ball at the 30 which led to a touchdown for the Giants. On their next offensive possession, Dilfer threw an interception which led to a field goal. The score was relatively close by the end of the half, 7-19. Two touchdowns and the Niners would be right in the thick of things.
Unfortunately, Dilfered was sacked and fumbled the ball in the first drive of the third quarter. The ball was picked up by Osi Umenyiora and he ran it back 75 yards for a touchdown. With an exchange of touchdowns in garbage time, the Niners lose their 4th straight.
What can we take from this game?
Patrick Willis will be a beast in this league at LB. He was all over the place making tackles.
Ashley Lelie made a couple of nice catches that stretched the field for the Niners.
Andy Lee doing his thing, showcasing why he should be in the All-Star game.
The offense accumulated the most total offensive yards for the season.
What do we have to look foward to?
Losing our high draft pick to the already formidable New England Patriots.
