49ers win! It has been so long since the Niners have won a game, I forgot what it feels like to win. This is the turning point for the San Francisco 49ers season. Undefeated from here on out, baby!
The San Francisco offense came alive today, scoring over 30 points, their highest scoring output this season. Frank "The Tank" Gore account for half the offense, with two touchdowns, 116 yards rushing, and 98 yards receiving.
The defense came in ready to play, sacking Kurt Warner four times and picking him off twice. Patrick Willis is a fast, fast linebacker. He chased down the Cardinals' WR Sean Morey down the field to prevent a game-ending touchdown. The SF defense came up big again, forcing a Kurt Warner fumble and subsequent fumble recovery in the end zone in overtime.
But the Arizona Cardinals gave a hell of a performance. Kurt Warner has 484 passing yards for the game, the highest in the NFL this season. Larry Fitzgerald has 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Even former 49ers QB Tim Rattay came in for the Cardinals to throw a touchdown pass.
The Cardinals had their chance to win the game. Neil Rackers had a 32 yard field goal attempt in overtime, but the kick went wide. The Cardinals held the 49ers to two 3-and-outs in overtime. The Cardinals were pinned inside the 10 on Andy Lee's second punt in overtime, and that was all the Niners needed. A sack, forced fumble, and recovery in the end-zone ended the game. Niners win!
Mathematically speaking, the 49ers still have a chance to win the division. The current NFC West leader is the Seattle Seahawks, at 7-4. The 49ers are 3-8, with five games left in the season. If the 49ers win out every game, Seattle loses every game, and the other teams in the division loses all their remaining games, the 49ers will end with a record of 8-8 while the Seahawks will be 7-9.
Realistically, the 49ers don't stand a chance to make it to the playoffs this year. Try again next year.

RE: 49ers Win Overtime Game over Cardinals
Why wasn't Tollner brought in earlier during the losing streak when the offense was anaemic. Was Nolan so blind to not see the offense sucked?
The only reason why Nolan even made an effort to bring in outside help was due to Denise DeBartolo's veiled threat in an interview to give Nolan the boot after the season was over if improvements weren't shown.
