As the end of the NBA season approaches, here is an update on my fantasy basketball teams. My first team is in a head to head league, with the top 6 teams advancing to the playoffs. I'm at seventh place, out of the fantasy playoffs. Kevin Garnett could not carry my team into the playoffs.
My second team is also in a head to head league. I am, once again, in seventh place and out of the fantasy playoffs. I am beginning to see a pattern develop here, and I don't like it. This team had Steve Nash, Monta Ellis, and Josh Smith. But I never had a solid group of centers for this team. Erick Dampier and Jeff Foster are my starting centers for this team.
My third team fared much better. In a 12 team roto league, I'm tied for first place. This is surprising since my first round draft pick, Gilbert Arenas, did not play much of the season. Despite the turn of events for my first round pick, my other picks turned out well. I picked up Chauncey Billups in the second round and was able to draft Allen Iverson in the third. These two have been solid the entire year and really carried my fantasy team. Another good draft pick was Hedo Turkoglu in the 11th round. Turkoglu put up big numbers this year, and I reaped all of it.
I'm one up, and two down this year. I'm happy with those results. The two head to head leagues were close. I was one seed away from making the playoffs. I'm going to just mail it in for fantasy baseball and wait for fantasy football.
