On the back of a 109-119 drubbing by the Jazz in Utah, the Warriors respond with an amazing performance against the league's best team, the Boston Celtics.
With Jackson had to sit out of this game due to re-injuring his ankle in Utah. The Warriors' record this season without Jackson is 1-6 and 31-15 with him. Without his clutch shooting, the Warriors would have to keep the game close by playing efficiently and controlling the boards which they did for the most part.
While trailing by 7 in the fourth, the Warriors came back to take the lead. But the Celtics with their Big 3 could not be denied and tied up the game with 6.5 seconds to go.
Baron Davis took the ball on the inbounds and did his magic. He drove to the right, the defender backpedaled on him. Baron took a step back, faded away, and hit the game-winning shot.
There were a lot of heroes in this game. The Celtic defense was keying in on Monta Ellis, doubling him when he drove and crowding him at the perimeter. He became a distributor, matching his career high with 9 assists.
Andris Biedrins was active on the boards grabbing 13 of them. He also contributed 21 much needed points and played excellent defense against Garnett late in the game.
Al Harrington was the man tonight. Coming off the bench, he posted 22 points and 12 rebounds. Harrington kept the offense flowing in the 3rd quarter on his dead-eye shooting and hustle.
Chris Webber actually had a decent night. He seemed to be getting his legs under him now and contributed active minutes in the beginning of the game and the third. He really needs to work on his free throws though.
But the man of the hour tonight was definitely Baron Davis. How can you deny a line of 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists on 50% shooting. Hitting the game-winning shot only sealed the deal as the player of tonight's game.
