Baron Davis is having an All-Star year, leading the Golden State Warriors to 9 wins out of their last 11 games, good enough for a playoff berth in the loaded Western Conference. Without a doubt, Baron is the heart and soul of the scrappy Warriors team. Baron is also a key player in Don Nelson's mis-match small ball offense, and the numbers show it.

Baron is leading all point guards in scoring at 23.3 points per game. Baron is 5th in assists per game with 8.6 assists per game. He is 2nd in rebounding for point guards at 5.4 rebounds a game, trailing only Jason Kidd's 8.6 rebounds per game. Baron is 2nd in steals per game (2.4), top in blocks for point guards (0.5), and causes less turnovers than Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Jason Kidd, and Chris Paul.

Baron Davis' All-Star voting competition will come from Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, and Tony Parker. Parker already has Eva Longoria, so screw him for All-Star. Deron Williams is a good player, and so is Steven Nash, but Baron just have better all-around numbers this year.

Chris Paul will be an x-factor. Paul has been playing very well, but he gets the home field advantage. The NBA 2008 All-Star game will be held in New Orleans, the same city where Chris Paul and the Hornets play. CP is sure to be getting an influx of votes from the home town.

Baron was a member of the Hornets before he landed at Golden State, but Baron's departure from the Hornets was not the cleanest. Hopefully, there aren't any bad feelings between the New Orleans fans and Baron Davis.
