The loss to the Lakers in LA was expected. Whether it was from tired legs or guarding Bynum all night long, the Warriors' energy dropped in the second half and the Lakers ran away with the game.
This upcoming game will probably have the same result. The Warriors have a better chance of beating the Lakers in LA then beating the Spurs in any venue. The Spurs are so fundamentally sound, the Warriors can't compete with their crazy style--they play half-court defense and transition defense well, they box-out and rebound the ball, their half-court offense works well against scrambling defenses, and they have Tim Duncan. With Tim Duncan on the team, the Spurs have compiled a 35-6 record against the Warriors. Last year during that great 15-6 run the Warriors had at the end of the season, the Spurs rested their starters and still won handily.
So, even a homer like myself find it hard to expect a win.
In other news, even if the Warriors lose tonight's game against the Spurs and friday's game against the Lakers, they will still have the same or less number of losses as the 9th place team, the Houston Rockets. Mcgrady is slightly injured, so expect more losses in Houston's future.
Hopefully, in tonight's game, we can see some of the rookies when the Spurs have the game well in hand. Go Belinelli!!
