Shawn Marion went from leading in the wild Western Conference to the bottom of the barrel in the inferior Eastern Conference. That's got to take some getting used to. Shawn Marion was involved in a trade between the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat. The same trade brought Shaquille O'Neal to the Suns and Marcus Banks to the Heat.
Before the season began, there were concerns about the future of the Phoenix Suns salary cap. This brought about rumors about trading Shawn Marion. No deal was made for Marion before the season, but Marion made comments about parting ways with Phoenix in the future. This put pressure on Phoenix to move Marion before the trading deadline.
If the Suns were concerned about their salary cap, trading for Shaq doesn't help much. Shaquille's contract is $20 million a year. Marion's contract averages $16.8 million while Marcus Bank's contract is close to $4 million. It is believed that Shawn Marion will sign a contract extension with Miami.
Since acquiring Marion, the Miami Heat have yet to win a game, going 0-3. This isn't Marion's fault, as the Heat had been on a six game losing streak before the trade. The Miami Heat, owners of the league's worst record, is at a pitiful 9-42. It is hard to believe that this is what Marion wanted. Welcome to losing, Shawn Marion.

RE: Shawn Marion, Welcome to Losing
Shouldn't be a big deal for Marion. Before D'Antoni, Nash, and Stoudamire came to the Suns, Marion was the main man on a perennial losing Suns team.
