The loss to the Blazers was a real letdown. In the game, we saw all three of our captains--Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson, and Matt Barnes--lose their composure when the refs didn't call things their way. With sloppy defense and a tendency to jack 3s, the Warriors lost a game which they should have won.
With a day between to stew, the Warriors will now have to face off against their kryptonite, the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are coming off a victory over a depleted San Antonio team. Most of their main players were given rest in the game, so they should be seeing as much action as it takes to put the Warriors away.
Also the game will be televised on ESPN, so the public at-large can view the Warriors' humiliation.
I am hoping Nellie goes back to his original lineup before this small-ball infatuation kicked in after the Rockets game. With one good game against Yao, it seems Nellie thought the same small-ball lineup will work on every team afterwards. Instead the plan has backfired, as the Warriors are outboarded early and often and Harrington is getting worn down guarding bigger bodies.
For this game, I expect either Biedrins or Mbenga to start. Mbenga did a decent job against Bynum in the last game, limiting him to a less than steller performance as opposed to the lightweights, Biedrins and Harrington.
And I want to see some Belinelli and Wright. Wright has the length to help out with the boards and Belinelli needs a confidence boost by seeing some playing time. While were at it, throw POB in there as well to bother Bynum with his length.
The Warriors have not won a game against the Lakers for a very long time, so trying anything new would be better than doing the same old thing again.
